Client Pre-Production Question and Answer

Product Photography is a broad sub-set of the photography category. Within product photography there’s food photography, e-commerce photography (clean-cut, white background, product-only images), lifestyle shots, packaging shots, in-context lifestyle photos, and the list goes on and on. So needless to say there are a lot of variables that can go into a product photography shoot. But it’s not actually all that complicated if broken down into parts, and that’s what I hope to do with this pre-production form.

The goal of this form is to transfer your vision to me. Getting on the same page with respect to the qualities or style of the image/video you hope to create is the first step in determining the scope of the project. I don’t require the whole thing to be filled out in full detail to move forward, but typically the more you can give me the better.

I find the best way to communicate ideas is with already existing images. If there is an image out there for another product that you’d like to use as inspiration for your own product photography, please send it over. You can email me here. If there’s nothing out there that represents what you’re looking for, try to gather several images that together capture the essence of what you hope to achieve. If you feel like you can explain it verbally, do that too. Any information you can provide from the below list will help me best photograph your product.
